LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD – AGAIN!
On behalf of Suburban Land Reserve (SLR), thank you for your petition support of Innovation for East Orange County. You were one of more than 16,790 resident signatures in support of this proposal! As a reminder, the specific information outlined within the petition included the following main points:
We support a new community in East Orange County as part of the vision, and promise made by Orange County in 2005 to create Innovation Way. Combining IWE (Innovation Way East) with ICP (International Corporate Park) is the keystone to a successful Innovation Way vision. Orange County needs the benefits of this community and Orange County must approve the land use changes in IWE. The land use changes mean:
- Immediate Jobs: Upon approval many projects, such as the development of the interchange at Alafaya Trail and the 528/Beachline, will create $50,000,000 in “shovel ready” jobs for the people of our county.
- Preserve Nature and Open Space: More than HALF of the land inside ICP and IWE will be dedicated to community parks, recreation trails, wildlife corridors and enlarged environmental buffers protecting Turkey Creek and Econ River.
- A complete community designed around a walkable, job-rich town center surrounded by a vibrant, exciting community—a place where people enjoy living, working and interacting with each other.
- Future New Job Center for High Quality, High Tech Jobs: The Central Florida Research Park will develop its new research park at ICP, creating a new high-tech job center similar to the one by UCF.
SLR’s plan was presented to the Board of County Commissioners on May 11th. The vote by commission has been postponed until June 22nd.
In addition to your existing petition signature, your voice can be heard again by contacting members of the Commission in emails or phone calls. If you are so inclined, let them know that you support Innovation Way East.
